"Do No Harm", they told us.
It was the agreement, you see. We did not want to be chased into the wilds, living only in our fur with our brethren. We wished to live amongst humans too, and in this desire was our folly.
Throughout history, werewolves have been hunted by humans. Their silver scalds us, their weapons maim us. We fight back. Nature is on our side. Our roots are druidic - we are everything that is good about humans, but better.
Until they developed weapons, that is. Their bullets now wound us, firing faster than we can heal. Their numbers overwhelm us, not even pack can save us from their metal jaws.
Thus, we are forced to turn to humans, tails tucked under, heads bowing as a simpering whine pleads them. We do not wish to be exterminated. We'll be good, see us wag our tails? We'll obey. We'll obey.
They tell us, "Do no harm." If that is the price we must pay, then we shall. Any of us who harms a human is taken away to be slaughtered. The rest of us live in uneasy peace - most do not reveal our fur to our thin-skinned friends. We live in hiding, not as pack should be.
There are wolves that desire this, for they do not wish to be killed. They call themselves the Lucanters. There are wolves who wish to transcend humanity, killing and returning to our throne. They call themselves the Kalectos.
In Waymoor, where these two packs reside, they fight bitterly over this. For years now, the two packs have argued, but now, the threat is even more dire. Due to the Kalectos' actions, Waymoor is harshly demanding every werewolf to register as a wolf. Neither pack approves of this - we are not animals to be tagged and tracked. As a result, the packs fight worse than ever, situations becoming worse as tensions rise.
It seems that nothing will be able to stop the packs, locked forever in this abusive embrace. But with the threat of extermination looming overhead, perhaps wolves will be forced to choose one way or the other... [/size][/blockquote]
