WAYMOOR
Waymoor is a large city, located neatly on the coast. The city lives and breathes the outdoors, making it a perfect suburban haven for werewolves choosing to acclimate themselves to society.
Despite what may be written, you are free to create your own piece of setting within any of the boards. A certain restaurant, meadow, workplace, house, anything - these are just basic guidelines.
Year-round, it is perfect to be outdoors. The summers are nice and warm, rarely straying too far into the 90s. The chill and wind from the mountains blows off into the ocean, so Waymoor does not get very humid, either. During the fall, leaves change colors and fall off, and the air becomes brisk until snow starts to show around late November. In the winter, snow is frequent, usually around a foot at a time, but never piling up so bad that people are confined to their homes. Around March, spring warms up the coast again, and people begin to shed their scarves and coats.
A year in Waymoor is approximately 4 months in our time.
Downtown is right by the beach. There are several small harbors for boats, but most really is public beach. Shopping centers, opera houses, restaurants, and workplaces can all be found here. If you travel either east or west, the area gets a bit more 'sketchy', and although it never turns into the ghetto or slums, there are areas that are easier to hide within.
Ethnic Enclave is a part of Waymoor where people of ethnicity tend to gather. It is located Northwest of the main area of downtown, and is a bit more crowded, but you can find food, restaurants, trinkets, and more from countries all over the world here. It is a fun place to explore, running from rooftop to rooftop is something people and wolves both enjoy.
As we travel north, we get more into Suburbia, where there are lots of houses, with scattered malls, strip malls, and other places floating around. There is also one very large, nice park with a creek, trees, and benches for the perfect city getaway. Most parts are fairly well-lit, but there are certainly some back areas where shady deals transpire.
To the northeast, there among a rather poverty-stricken area, is a large abandoned factory. It seems to have produced at one point something metal, for large scraps of it are laying around, or twisted into structures strong enough to support a fully-grown wolf. It is the meeting place for PACK 1, where if not out in the forest or city, they tend to gather, or are even called.
Bloody Basin consists mostly of farmland and forests and meadows. The farms tend to be a few every once in a while, occasionally more will be clustered together, occasionally less. The fields grow almost anything, and some have been left to overgrow and be consumed by the resident forests. The forests are truly more like glades, small and incomparable to Waymoor Forest, but the occasional pond and stream spatter them, making it a fun place to hike, or as a wolf, run.
Aspen Veldt is the first part of Waymoor Forest, and quite beautiful. Spattered gently with a few oaks and evergreens, it is mostly aspens. Creeks and a large river wander slowly through as well, and as you get more north, hills and rocks begin to emerge more and more.
If you were to follow the big river up, it eventually cuts a large, flowing canyon through the forest. The trees become noticeably thicker and more evergreens and oaks, and the terrain becomes more rugged as well. At a certain point of the canyon, a waterfall forms, and has worn away over time a large basin, with walls perhaps 10-15ft high. Caves and rocks jut into and out of the walls, and a large portion of the floor of the basin is clear from water, making for a great meeting place. Pack 2 meets here, out in the wilderness.
Traveling even more north, the terrain becomes very mountainous. The tallest mountain's face, watching over all of Waymoor, is simply called The North Face. The mountains themselves are called the Waymoors, and some can be skied down, hiked up, and traversed.
